The North Platte Public Schools Foundation in conjunction with North Platte Public Schools is excited to announce that Ginger Rivera was awarded the North Platte Public Schools Staff person of the month for December 2018.
Ginger has been teaching in the North Platte Public Schools for 34 years and is currently the resource teacher at Washington Elementary School. She has also taught at Eisenhower, Buffalo and Mckinley.
Ginger says, “As a Resource Teacher, I strongly believe that all students can learn. I must strive to build strong relationships with them and to give them the correct tools to be successful in life. I believe that students are general education students first and that until we stop believing that students can’t achieve they won’t achieve.”
Ginger was nominated by Washington Principal Greg Fruhwirth. Her nomination read; Ginger is one of the most special people in the world, for who else could spend day after day giving of herself to someone else’s children to guide and direct and put forth the energy to make them believe in themselves. She is a counselor, a role model and most of all a FRIEND!
The North Platte Public Schools and North Platte Public Schools Foundation developed the staff recognition promotion to provide incentives for deserving teachers and support staff. The program is designed to recognize outstanding teachers and support staff for their contributions to NPPS. The nomination symbolizes the esteem and appreciation that everyone has for our school district employees.
The December award was sponsored by A Cut Above Salon. Staff members are awarded a gift basket full of items donated by the sponsor and a gift card, candy and balloons from the North Platte Public Schools Foundation as well as a bouquet donated by Prairie Friends and Flowers. Staff members are awarded monthly throughout the school year and are recognized at the annual Education After Hours each spring.
