Kim Flanders, Principal
"I have a passion for learning, teaching, and leading. It is a privilege to do all three as Principal of Buffalo Elementary. Before accepting the principal position at Buffalo this year, I served for five years as principal at Cody Elementary. These positions were preceded by serving as a K-5 Instructional coach, as well as teaching in elementary classrooms. I had the privilege of teaching in several elementary schools spanning 3rd-5th grade levels for both Kearney Public Schools and North Platte Public Schools. All of these teaching experiences afforded me the opportunity to reach, teach, and inspire students, as well as shape my philosophy of education.
My undergraduate degree in Elementary Education/Early Childhood was obtained from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. I also acquired my Masters in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. My administrative credentials were completed through Wayne State College.
Having attended and graduated from the North Platte Public School district, I have a strong tie to the North Platte community. Interestingly enough, I attended Buffalo Elementary as a student during my 3rd - 6th grade years. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Brian. Flanders. He is employed by the State of Nebraska as a Probation Supervisor. We have three daughters, Karli;20, Jaeli; 20, and Emma;13. Felix, the cat, and Tucker, the daschund, make our family complete.
It is an honor and a privilege to serve the students, staff, and families of Buffalo School where we embrace the conviction that ALL students can succeed. Our mission is alive each and every day as we prepare students to be productive, responsible citizens in a safe, caring, supportive learning environment."
