Eisenhower Elementary | Second Grade
My name is Yvonne (Ahrens) Bailey. I am originally from Superior, Nebraska. After graduating from Superior High School, I worked as a secretary for the County Attorney of Nuckolls County, in Nelson, Nebraska. After a couple of years, I realized my life could be more fulfilled with a college degree. During my college years, secretarial work continued to keep me busy as I worked for attorneys in Kearney. In 1986 I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, with an endorsement in Special Education, from Kearney State College.
I am married to Thomas Bailey and we have two children. Kyla Bailey is in the nursing program, hoping to have an RN degree and Drew Bailey is in the welding program. They attend North Platte Community College. Both should graduate in May of 2017.
After my college graduation, in 1986 I began my teaching career in second grade, at Hall School, North Platte, Nebraska, which recently closed. I was very lucky to have moved to Eisenhower Elementary in 2007, where I continue to teach second grade.
Being an educator is a job that brings me a great sense of accomplishment. I make a difference in lives, as I prepare my students for their future.
