Jefferson Elementary | School Counselor
Hi, my name is Kara Dike. I grew up in Kimball, Nebraska. I am currently a school counselor at Jefferson Elementary School. I have been a school counselor for ten years for North Platte Schools. Prior to being a counselor, I was a special education teacher at Adams Middle School. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with and Endorsement in Special Education and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling through the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
I am proud to work for North Platte Public Schools. I believe it is important we build relationships with students and families. Effective communication is a key factor in life, and I believe teaching students how to do this will teach them a skill they will use as they grow into productive adults. I believe teaching and role modeling character traits helps students to understand how to be happy and healthy citizens in our community and in their own lives.
