Jefferson Elementary | Third Grade

My name is Colleen Hodges.  I was born in Pocatello, Idaho and lived there for 13 years. We moved to North Platte when I was 13. I attended Adams Middle School and graduated from North Platte High School in 1994. I graduated with my Associates of Science Degree from Mid-Plains Community College. I then went to Chadron, where I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and an endorsement in Early Childhood. After Chadron, I attended Doane College where I graduated with a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.

I am currently a 3rd grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary. This is my 8th year of teaching 3rd grade at Jefferson. Before I began teaching I was a Behavior Para at Jefferson and was a substitute teacher for NPPS.

I have three children. Brooke is 20, and attended NPPS and is currently a student at Mid-Plains Community College and is going into nursing. Joshua and Jonathan are 13 and attend Adams Middle School.

I believe that building relationships with my students and their families is key to having a successful school year. Each child brings something unique to the classroom and I love to see how they grow as a person and as a learner throughout the year. Each school year I add to my family, because as a teacher I view them as my own kids and I will do whatever I can to help them be successful!
