Jefferson Elementary | Second Grade

My name is Melissa Schult. I am originally from Valley, Nebraska and graduated from Douglas County West High School. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Wayne State College in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education.

I am a second grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary here in North Platte. Before teaching at North Platte, I taught two years as a substitute teacher in the Wayne area while attending school.  I was also a manager at the Dairy Queen in my hometown for seven years.

I am a huge animal lover.  My ever growing animal family currently includes my dog, Rex, my rabbit, Thumper, my horse, Whiskey, and my fish, Skittles.  I have strong family ties back home and I am lucky enough to have many great friends within the North Platte School system.

Our mission at North Platte Public Schools is to ensure that students acquire the knowledge and skills that will prepare them for post-secondary education and entry into the workplace. The program focuses on education that offers students the opportunities to learn the knowledge, applications, and attitudes to succeed in school, in life and in the workplace. Students are prepared to be citizens, informed consumers and effective workers.
