North Platte High School | English

Hi! My name is Alice Boyer and this is my 10th year at NPHS. I teach 9th grade English on the 1300’s team and I was previously a special education teacher at the high school for eight years co-teaching Algebra, English and Reading 9.

I graduated from Bison High School in Bison, South Dakota in 1995 and attended South Dakota State University and Black Hills State University graduating with a double major in Elementary and Special Education in 2002. I am currently working towards my master’s in English through UNK. After graduating from college, I traveled with my husband, John, with his job as a power lineman and we lived in North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado, Wyoming, Arizona and Nebraska. In 2007, we moved to North Platte when John started working for Nebraska Public Power District. I then subbed for many grade levels for NPPSD and was hired full time for the 2009-2010 school year. My husband and I have two children, who attend school in the North Platte Public School District.

I am passionate about teaching and feel grateful to have the opportunity to work with so many amazing, dedicated staff members and students at NPHS. I enjoy working with students every day and seeing them make improvements in both their educational and personal journeys. I feel blessed to be a member of NPPSD and proud to be on such a fantastic, positive team!
