North Platte Public Schools | ECSE Teacher
My name is Marcia Henline. I am from Hastings. I graduated with my bachelors degree from Hastings College and had my first teaching job in Hastings. I have my Master’s degree from Doane in Curriculum and Instruction.
I am married to Nick, he is a 2006 graduate from NPHS. As of January 1, 2019 he will officially be the third generation owner of Fort Cody Trading Post. We have a daughter who is the apple of our eye, we couldn’t be prouder parents! Our home is a happy place, our cat Sweetie helps keep it that way.
I am an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher (ECSE). My desk is located at McKinley Education Center but my real work is done out in the community. I provide early intervention services (EI) to young children (age birth to 3 years old) and their families. The model used by the state to implement EI is called coaching. With the family, the EI team identifies goals the family wants to work on (child and family focused) and through home visits we work on meeting those goals. Another portion of my job is evaluating young children and checking their development through the Early Development Network’s (EDN) Child Find program. Working as an ECSE, I am able to educate the caregivers of young children on how important their role is and how truly powerful it is in shaping a child’s development and ultimately their future.
