Adams Middle School | Literacy

Hi, my name is Tiffany Johnson.  I was born in Ainsworth, Nebraska and moved to North Platte when I was five.  I attended elementary at District 44 which is now the Lake Elementary, starting my education in a one room classroom with myself and three other boys in my grade.  After consolidation, I attended 8th grade at Adams Junior High and graduated from North Platte High School in 1990.  I received my Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Nebraska Lincoln with an emphasis in Literacy.  I moved back to North Platte in 1995. I then  continued my education in teaching by receiving my Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction through Doane College in 2000.

My husband Stacey who is also a native of North Platte, is an Engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad.  We have three sons, Cooper 17, Carter 14, and Carsen 12, all who attend North Platte Public Schools.

I began my teaching career in August of 1995 at Madison Middle School here in North Platte.  I taught 7th grade Literacy for 19 years at Madison before my move to Adams Middle School in the fall of 2015.  I am currently an 8th grade Literacy teacher at Adams.   I am also a Team Leader for my team of teachers and students, and one of the sponsors of the Journalism/Yearbook Club.

The North Platte Public School District thrives on preparing every student for success through high quality educational programs delivered by highly effective educators who use innovative, researched-based strategies in a safe and supportive environment.  Our district believes in collaboration with family, businesses, and community members. As a teacher in an 8th grade middle school literacy classroom, I believe it is my duty to prepare my students for high school and the world beyond.  It is also a core belief of mine that building solid, respectful relationships will help guide the learning of the students in the classroom and their ability to recognize their worth and potential.
