North Platte High School | Industrial Technology

My name is Jeff Henne.  I grew up in Ainsworth NE and graduated from Ainsworth High School.  I earned a Bachelors from Chadron State College in Industrial Arts and a Masters in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

I am married to Janet (Smith) Henne who is a resource teacher for North Platte Public Schools.  We have five children and four Grandchildren.  One son lives in Sutherland NE, One son and our daughter are both in Kearney NE, The other two sons are both in North Platte.

I teach Skilled and Technical Sciences (STS) at North Platte High School and coach freshman football and wrestling.  Before moving to North Platte I was a principal in the Bon Homme School district in South Dakota.  I have taught in Fairbury NE, Albion NE, Todd County in South Dakota and started my teaching in Bayfield CO.

The mission at North Platte Public Schools is Student Learning, Student Achievement and Student success.  Our priorities are effective and efficient use of our resources and provide a safe learning and working environment.

As a STS teacher I believe we need to prepare students for life beyond education.  Our hands on classes show students the importance of the core classes and how that knowledge is used in problem solving and real world experiences.  For many students, hands on learning is the best way for them to learn.
