Washington Elementary | Fourth Grade

My name is Mindee Mohr.  I have lived in the North Platte/Maxwell area all of my life. I graduated from Maxwell High School.  I received an Associates of Arts from Mid-Plains Community College, my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, a Master’s degree specializing in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and recently earned my second Master’s degree in Administration from Concordia University of Nebraska at Seward.

My husband’s name is Mike.  He owns and operates Green Angel Lawn Service, LLC with snow removal.  I am the bookkeeper, so this keeps me busy in a good way.  Mike and I got married on Angel Island in 2010.  He is a wonderful step-father to my three children, D.J., Mollee, and Dalton Lunkwitz.  D.J. is a graduate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is an agricultural banker in Maywood.  Mollee is a two time graduate from Southeast Community College and is an auto-body technician and claims adjuster in Seward.  Dalton is enrolled at North Platte High School.  Mike comes from a family of 12 children and I come from a family of 8 children.  I am patiently waiting for grandchildren.

Outside of working with children, my favorite hobby that makes people smile is baking and decorating cakes. In the summer, you will often find me mowing lawns and doing landscaping.  I enjoy it and get exercise at the same time.  I also enjoy watching most sports, especially Husker volleyball.  Other hobbies are decorating/remodeling our home, listening to music, making crafty/creative things, and planning any kind of celebration.  I am also a youth group leader.

At Christmas time, my family enjoys decorating our “Angel House”.  We have about 100 angels on the outside.  Mike’s father had over 1,000 angels at one time and rang the Salvation Army bell each year.  He gave all of the angels away to the children of North Platte and surrounding areas as they would come to see his “Angel House”.  We are slowly building our own choir.
